If you are bothered by the signs of aging around your neck nad jawline, a neck lift may be right for you.

Technically known as rhytidectomy, a neck lift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging, such as:

  • Loss of muscle tone in the lower face that may create jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw

A neck lift is designed to correct these aging features, restoring a more youthful, rested appearance with uplifted contours and improved tone in skin and underlying muscle.

Procedure

An incision under the chin is made. If skin tone is good and only excess fat in the neck will be corrected, abbreviated techniques with shorter incisions may be used. Liposuction techniques may assist with removal of fat deposits.

Recovery

When your procedure is completed, a bandage could gently be placed around your face to minimize swelling and bruising. It may take several months for swelling to fully dissipate and up to 6 months for incision lines to mature.

Results

Long-lasting. However, the effect of aging and gravity will continue to take their toll.

Maintenance

Life-long sun protection will help to maintain your rejuvenated appearance by minimizing photo-aging or sun damage. In addition, a healthy lifestyle will also help extend the results of your rejuvenated, more youthful appearance.
